Printer lights all blink after printing one page

My Dell printer will print one page then stop with the page only half ejected and then all the lights start blinking. After removing the page and powering down the printer it is fine but then the problem repeats. I bought a refurbished ink cartridge from Amazon for $50 but that did not solve the problem.
