Can't charge/very minor water damage

An apple worker told me I couldn't get a replacement of my iPhone 6s cuz one of the prongs in my charging port showed signs of water damaged. How can I get that out to clean it up and see if it charges again?

Just get the charger port replaced. It's really hard (well pretty much impossible) to clean the inside of a lightning port for liquid damage.

In some cases it may be more than just the charging port damaged so I recommend getting the phone opened up and inspected for liquid damage.

Replacing the charging port is fairly cheap so I'll link a guide on how to do it and where to buy the part:

Guide:

Where to get the part:

Eh thanks! So , I already opened it and there's no water damage inside the phone it's self. Plus I never had problems with it. Jus the charging, till one day it didn't anymore. I'm gonna check those links to change the charging port right now.

Oh I forgot to mention does the charging cables plug in fully into the port?

There should be no visible gap of the silver part of the charging cable plug and the gap between the white plastic.

If there is then there may be gunk that needs to be cleaned up inside the charging port.

Usually I would use something like tweezers to get rid of the gunk. The bottom of the charging port has 8 pins which you need to be careful not to touch or push to avoid damaging them.'

Image of a clean enough charging port: This is very clean, only needs to be clean enough for charging port to go in with little gap.
