Some keys are not working is it due to the dented keyboard connector?
MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012:
Hi, so I already went through resetting my SMC, NVRAM, and all the troubleshooting procedures and nothing worked. I have never spilt any liquid or food on my Mac however, some of my keys are not responsive. More specifically the keys F1, F11, F12, Q, A, Z, 1, delete. When I first noticed these keys not responsive they used to work on and off and now they are completely dead. The other day I opened up my Mac and noticed a piece of the battery holder chipped off and dented the ribbon cable keyboard connector. I was wondering if this is why some of the keys are not working.
Two days ago I went to the Genius Bar for help and asked about the keyboard connector being scratched and I was told that that wasn't the issue and I would need to replace my entire keyboard which is very expensive.
Hopefully someone can see this and give me some answers. That would be greatly appreciated.
Is this a good question?
