Xbox one controller only works when plugged in

My Xbox one controller will only work if it's plugged into a power source. It doesn't matter how many times I change the batteries it won't turn on it unless it is plugged into the Xbox. Wanted to know if there was a fix for it or if it is something that I am just going to have to deal with.

I had this same issue then I just reset my Xbox and fixed the problem. Who would have thought.

The only thing that worked for me was turning on a broken controller then the new controller turned on and stayed on.

It would only work plugged in.

Chosen Solution

Disassemble it and reassemble it to better secure connections using this guide:

Xbox One Wireless Controller Top Motherboard Replacement

If that doesn't fix it, than replacing the top motherboard should.

Make sure your batteries are both putting out at least 1.5v.

Hope this helps!
