iPhone not turning on

Ok, this problem is now becoming quite a nuisance for me now, I do hope someone out there can help me. My iPhone 5s (Gold, A1530 64GB) is not turning on, I have tried numerous methods to recover it, I left it in to charge for a few hours, nothing, I put it into DFU mode and connected it to iTunes, every time I attempt to restore it it boots up with a white apple and black background (which is strange as it is not space grey) eventually after "waiting for iPhone" it gives me "error 4005." I made sure "port 80" was open on my Mac, I made sure my internet connection was good, I have the latest version of iTunes and I checked my hosts.... nothing. I then decided to download Dr Fone Wondershare to fix the system but that did not work either. I am 100% sure it's a hardware issue as I even tried to restore the phone without the LCD and screen connected, I replaced the battery and the dock connector and it still would not work oh yes and I tried it with numerous USB cables and numerous computers (macs and windows) I don't think it's the proximity sensor as the apple logo display is perfect. I am now left with the conclusion that the compass IC is damaged and needs replacing. I hope that this is repairable, all help from anyone will be appreciated.

Error 4005 sounds like bad NAND. This is unlikely due to a cold joint under NAND and more likely that the NAND has failed. Replacing the logic board entirely will certainly be the fastest way to a functional phone. Otherwise, since the NAND is programmed to the board you'd have to desolder it, read it, use a device from China to copy serial number to a new NAND--cost of the chip itself is $50-$100 in July 2017 and then solder new NAND to the board.

A device from China? Can you be a little more vague? Lazy girl ;-)

Ok but if I replace the logic board completely will the Touch ID still work? (I'm only 18 years old and at the moment I don't have money for a new phone as I'm saving up to get the iPhone 8/ iPhone X in October this year) so for now I really really need to get this fixed.

Honestly with it being an iPhone 5S, and I hate the landfill, I would just get a new phone. You can buy a logic board and maybe save a few dollars? If you do so, make sure you get the home button, with the logic board, or you won't get Touch ID. A new logic board is literally a new phone

Ok, so error 4005 is usually an issue with a cold solder joint on the nand. I hate the landfill and all. But is it worth it for you to have a board repair specialist to reball the chip? I do it for about $90 and iPad Rehab does it for about ..I think $200

Thank you so much, I live in South Africa so I'm quite limited when it comes to technological services, I'm wondering due to the fact that I can perform various DIY repairs on devices, whether I will be able to repair this issue myself?

Well...you kinda don't have much to lose, and it depends on how long you want the device back? Removing, reballing and replacing. Not for beginners. You could get/borrow a smd rework station. You can get em cheap, and reflow the chip, and that would be temporary fix. Like real temporary. Like a month

by

Ok thanks and do you think I'll be able to replace the entire nand rather than taking my chances with the small IC chips?

by

Will I be able to purchase a logic board and install it onto the iPhone?

by

If not you said that it would only be temporary, why?
