I have the same problem. Yesterday 1-1-2018, a Best Buy computer tech suggested a temporary fix. Push the 'fn' key followed by the 'F12' to disable the "tip - ?" function of the touch pad because the pad is very sensitive.

When enacted the touch pad is apparently temporarily disabled. Once you push the two keys, the blue light to the right just above 'Pause Break' key (located on the top row of keyboard), comes on. If/when it goes off, push the Fn followed by the F12 again.

The tech pointed out that my touch pad is very, very sensitive and my hand or fingers get close enough to trigger what he called the "Tip-?" function of the pad.

I'm searching for a permanent fix from Insignia but have just begun my search, when I saw your question. Hope this helps at least temporarily.

Hello Lon,

Thanks for the Fn-F12 tip. On my Insignia, this seems to disable the touchpad entirely, which I can live with while I'm typing. The arrow keys work (the arrow key action seems dependent on what type of window the cursor is in) and it'll be nice to be able to type consistently without having to figure out where the characters I just typed, went.
