Home button Not working

I have an iphone 6 and I was told it needed a new cover or faceplate along those lines in order for it to work. I was also told it would cost $40 to $50. I am really confused. I need help

The iPhone 6 has an extension cable connects the home button to the motherboard and is glued to a plate behind the screen. I am thinking this might help. iPhone 6 Home Button Cable Replacement
