When I try watching a video wether its online or in my photo library the volume dont want to work or doesnt even show the volume bar on the phone while video is playin.

try opening the voice memo app and seeing whether the iphone recognises any sounds at all. If nothing is detected it may be the dock is at fault and this is why you have no sound.
if you play music/use ipod can you hear it from bottom speaker? another test for dock being broken.

this sounds like software problem. do you have any sound, when playing the music? how about when using the Youtube app? is your phone jailbroken?

My phone isn't jailbroken and no I don't have no sound at all unless I make a phone call
Have you tried the volume controls on the left side of the iPhone? Know this sounds obvious, but it isn't mentioned.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 4! It literally had no issues until a few days after the iOS 6 update. Now I only have volume when someone calls me. I have no volume for videos that are on my phone or online. My keypad doesn't click and there's no sound when I send or receive a text. Only phone calls actually have an alert tone. I tried resetting my phone by holding the circle and power buttons and that didn't help. I've gone into my settings and tried turning on airplane mode but that did nothing too. I'm getting so annoyed!
