Dim MagSafe light swapped MagSafe and motherboard

I have swapped out the MagSafe board and installed a different Mb-both items work. Installed previous mb with new/working magsafe board and get dim green light.

Is there a way to repair or clean connections on Mb where MagSafe cable connects to MB?

Battery works and runs MAc. It does not show charging in system preferences even though light is dim green. I have done SMC and pram resets

STOP!

Clearly you have a bad (or clone) MagSafe adapter which is damaging your logic boards. Review this Apple TN: Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters to check for a damaged adapter.

Sadly, it's not easy to prove if your adapter is a real Apple unit. Here's a bit more on cloned units: Counterfeit Macbook charger teardown: convincing outside but dangerous inside & Lacking safety features, cheap MacBook chargers create big sparks & Safety tests of 400 fake Apple chargers bought online reveal that 99% are dangerous

If you can get your self to an Apple Store they had been swapping out cloned units for the real units. I'm not sure if they still are, but its worth the effort, if not get a new unit there.

Also make sure you have the correct adapter: Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac notebook

Make sure you check your wall outlet to make sure its wired correctly & grounded, use a good surge suppressor or UPS as well.

A dim MagSafe LED implies the charging logic on the main logic board is damaged.
