SOLVED: I'm getting lines and freezing with my iMac late 2006 24". - iMac Intel 24" EMC 2111

I'm getting lines and freezing with my iMac late 2006 24".

I was wondering if the graphics card could be updated. I have the NVIDIA Geforce 7300 128 MB but I would like to upgrade to the 256 MB.

Is this an easy task? Will this cure the problem as I have seen A LOT of the message boards saying this is the issue with this particular brand? Where can I buy if this is the case.

I could not find an upgrade path on the GPU.

There was a 256 MB version of the graphics card its a bit harder to find and more costly. In truth would't make any difference. Here's the Apple P/N's for both:

- NVIDIA GeForce7300 GT, 128 MB - 661-4179

- NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT, 256 MB - 661-4180
