Multiple iPad Mini 2s rejecting digitizer/lcd replacement. (No life)
Hi,
So basically I was repairing an iPad Mini 2 (A1490) by replacing the digitizer. During the process, the LCD glue was unusually strong and I accidentally snapped the LCD. So, I grabbed a spare iPad I had (an iPad Mini 2 (A1489)) and according to iFixit they took the same exact LCD.
So, I took the A1489 LCD out of the iPad and began putting it into the A1490 iPad along with a new Digitizer. However, once I finished it, I tested it and I get absolutely no life from the iPad. No dim images, no charging sound, iTunes doesnt recognize it or anything.
After that, I decided Ill try the digitizer and LCD on the old A1489 iPad then to see whats up. However, upon putting them on the A1489 iPad, I get the same exact results.
I redid it twice and havn't had any luck. No charging noises, and iTunes isnt recognizing it. I looked through several threads but couldnt find anyone who didnt have any signs of life at all.
I have replaced several of these screens, but this is the first major issue ive come across. Thank you for your help.
Edit:
Hooked up the broken LCD to see what would happen. It stutters up and flashes normal broken LCD randomness. But I also noticed that the battery is dead, as in on the "Plug me in Screen" So that would explain the unresponsiveness to iTunes and no beeping sound. But, I dont understand how I could have broken the second LCD. Is it possible that it is the backlight and im just not noticing it? How hard is it to see?
Is this a good question?

As far as the backlight, it is hard to see an image on the screen if the backlight is not functioning. You may need to shine a flashlight on the screen to see an image.
