How do I replace a broken upper case cable?

I took my macbook apart to replace the fan and damaged the upper case cable in the process. I bought a new one but I would like to make sure I don't damage anything else replacing it. Can someone please tell me how to remove the upper case cable and install another one? Thanks.

Answer this question I have this problem too

I take it your talking about the keyboard to logic board cable. The keyboard socket is OK? Where did you get just the cable?

Yes, it is the cable that connects the keyboard and trackpad (and I think the power button) to the logic board. When you ask about the keyboard socket, I assume you are talking about the connector on the logic board that the cable plugs into. As far as I can tell it is fine. There was one pin that broke off the cable, that is the problem. ifixit.com sells the cable and I have already purchased a new one. I just need to know how to remove the old one if anyone has done this before. I don't want to just start prying things up to try to figure it out.

Ok, i had to pull out a keyboard to see how to do this. Just peal the vinyl tab off the trackpad slowly. You will clearly see the insert on the trackpad for the cable right next to the input for the keyboard. It pulls out laterally.
