Replaced lightning connector - microphone doesn't work

I replaced the lightning connector on an iPhone 6. As you might know the microphone is also part of this piece of hardware.

Everything works fine (the problem was the lightning connector not charging the phone), except when he places a call, the other party can't hear him. Speakerphone works fine. Can anyone tell me how to solve this?

You need to double check to insure the microphone was properly lined up in the rubber gasket. If it is off, it would certainly attenuate the sound. It is also possible that you have a defective replacement part. Small parts are notorious for poor quality.

Thank you for your answer. I will check this as soon as I can, and come back here with my findings.

BTW: I ordered the part through the EU shop of ifixit, and followed the steps you point me to.
