power button doesn´t work and the screen shows the apple sign;itunes d

I droped my iphone 3g and i think the power button broke to i just want to restore my phone and now there´s always the apple in the screen and nothing changes.No itune connection works?the whole phne crashes down? do i hve to replace the powerswitch to come to dfu mode?is the phone gone?

the simplest solution would be to replace the headphone jack which contains the power button if this is the part that you think is broken and preventing you from entering dfu.

the other causes following a drop are loose connections- so open the phone and check all the connections including those for the battery (common cause of phone not booting is not enough power to boot up)
