How to hard reset with no original controller

My ps3 is old I guess you could say now. I have a ps4 so I really play that and not my 3. But I do get on my 3 when I sleep at night. Like most people get on Netflix or YouTube when night hits. I'm one of those people. But my ps3 file corrupted cuz it's Prolly to old. I tried to hard reset but the issue is I use a wired controller and not the original kind. So I can't control it to reset my ps3. Do any of you know how I could find another way to fix this. Cause I don't wanna buy another controller just to get on YouTube and netflix. I will play it from time to time. Like gta 4 or kingdom hearts. But that's it. So could someone please tell me a solution

If it was corrupted, you should take it out and format it, and start fresh. Use the below guides to do so:

How do you get around the set up without the controller?

@mayer One' should be able to set it up using the USB controller. If not, the OP must barrow a wireless one.

Then your answer doesn't solve the issue of not having a controller.

@mayer I don't understand. The OP can't reset because he doesn't have a wireless controller. My solution shows how to using his USB controller. I don't what you mean "the issue of not having a controller" when the OP does have a controller, just not a wireless one.
