No sound from ear speaker after repair.

Hello,

Today I was repairing an iPhone 3GS 32GB.

It was not the first time I had to replace to backcover and the front glass (digitizer).

I replaced the backcover and I replaced the broken frontglass.

When the phone was assembled I powered on.

It worked. Only one thing not.

I don't have sound from the earspeaker.

So I thought it is cable number 3.

But it isn't, because 1) the sensors are working. And 2) I swapped the front panel with another 3GS and on the other 3GS I had sound via the earspeaker. But with the front panel from the other 3GS on my 3GS I didn't had sound.

I really don't know what's broken.

How can it that the earspeaker don't work, and the loudspeaker does and the sensors also.

Has anybody a solution?

Thank you in advance

It may be the slot on the logic board for connector #3. I have had that problem before, it is a fragile slot & latch. Check that and see if that might be your problem.

Yes, but the proximity sensor does work. So that can't be.

yes it can. each pin on the slot has a purpose, you have only damaged that part...

How can I test this?

take a very close look at the pins-clean with isopropyl alcohol/check for dirt/debris or damage. re insert connector 3, if this doesn't work you can easily send it for repair-plenty of sites offer this repair
