how do I disconnect the ribbon with the spudger?

I have pulled up the front panel and am using the spudger, to disconnect the ribbon, but I am not sure how to disconnect. It has a spongy sticky pad on it am I supposed to pry it up or something?

The key with these connectors, is to pull straight up (if you are talking about the one for the digitalizer/display assembly) if you use minimal force, while doing this, you won't damage anything, use the spudger to gently pry up on each side of the connector head until it's free, i accidently broke a few cables like this, on my Powerbook G4, and have seemed to have perfected the removal method, just remember, nice and slow, and use no excessive force. With stuff like this, excessive force required useally means you are doing something wrong!
