I dropped my phone in water and it worked but some function won't work
I can't shot videos or listening to music or calling the phone is turned on but i cant do nothing !

Please @abouchard, no rice recommendations! It just simply doesn't work.
The water is inside the phone, on the logic board and under the shields, even under the IC's. The rice is nowhere near where the water is. So while it ‘’may’’ soak up some water vapour, the real problem is the mineral deposits that can cause short circuits or the corrosion that is taking place as the water evaporates. Leaving the power on the device accelerates the process. The longer you let a phone sit in rice, the more time you are giving corrosion to damage your logic board. The saltier or harder the water is, the more damage will occur. The water needs to be displaced, not evaporated.
Sorry about that, now on to helping the OP:
- Open your phone and remove the logic board (Samsung Galaxy S5 Motherboard Replacement)
- Inspect the logic board, especially around the connectors and look for corrosion.
- Inspect both sides of the board. Unfortunately, some of the board is covered in shields. That's usually where the damage is occurring.
- Put your board in a container with >90% isopropyl alcohol and let it sit for a while.
- Use a soft brush, like a toothbrush and lightly brush away any corrosion you see.
- Rinse in alcohol and repeat.
- Let it air dry for a day.
- Re-assemble and hope for the best.
You should also consider getting a new battery if it has swollen. Resist the temptation to pop it to let the gas out. A compromised Li-ion battery is a fire hazard.
A professional repair shop that does water damage repair may be able to fix your phone or recover data because they have access to pro-level ultrasonic baths and specialized cleaners as well as the skills to troubleshoot your board. Many shops have a no fix/no fee policy so you don't have to spend money to find out if the phone is fixable or not.

It does help, if immediatley done after dropping in water, its highly recommended by major cellphone companies btw. If left too long then rice wont work
Sorry @abouchard but I completely disagree, as do all of the senior members on this forum and the iphone micro-soldering repair community worldwide. We are the ones who have to try and save phones or recover data for folks who believe and perpetuate this myth.

@abouchard, in a nutshell, if it works after placing it in rice, it would have worked without the rice.
It is like someone getting a flesh wound. Some of them heal spontaneously, other get infected. Bathing in rice would not change the outcome, or may render it worse - at best.
But using rice is very dangerous for wet devices because you *think you did something* and after a day of soaking in rice you try to charge and power up the device and this is when a lot more damage occurs.
Best treatment is powering off the device, disassembling the device, disconnecting all sources of power, displacing all harmful liquids using a neutral liquid, drying the neutral liquid, assessing the damage visually and using a multimeter, then repairing or powering back on the device.
it has to be specific, type of rice pre-cooked rice will not work.Like I said; ive had alot of success with it in the past, with no side effects. Then again; as phones get more advanced in technology rice will nt work anymore. Im not to sure if the "I do not know, what jk means";is a farce, but jk is short form for "just joking"; widly used while texting to save time., see also idk (I don't know)

@almaystero & @abouchard - Sorry I'm late in the dialog, Rice won't soak up water in a liquid state! It only soaks up water vapor. Forget this old urban legend it doesn't work with a soaked device.
Now if you were in a humid rainforest and just got out of your air conditioned car you would see your glasses fog up then you need a desiccant to dry out the moisture in your camera bag then it makes sense!
- Step 1: Shake out and/or dry as much surface water you can
- Step 2: Turn off the device ASAP and if you can disconnect the battery
- Step 3: keep the device as cool as you can (don't freeze) until you can open the device to fully dry it out. Time is your enemy! The longer you wait the more damage is possible.
- Step 4: Don't power up the device! Until your sure the water has been cleaned out. Surgery and/or acidic drinks need to be fully cleaned!

Don't use rice to try and fix electronics.
That's a misconception, and a bad one.
If the device worked after being dunked in rice, it would have worked (and probably better) without the rice. Same as using rice to treat a wound or a sunburn.
