Do I lose my data on the iPod when I change the battery?

Hi,

I want to repair the LCD screen, the glass and the battery of my iPod touch 2G but before I start I got to know if the data (apps, etc.) will be deleted if I put out the old battery and put the new one in because there are some super rare games on this iPod which are not available in the appstore anymore amd I really want to keep them. Hopefully someone knows the answer. Thanks a lot

All your data and apps are safely stored in the Nand chip, a non volatile memory, thus you will find them where you left them once the iPod is brought back to life.

However, since you have data precious to you in your iPod you might want to safely backup all your data in an external storage, just in case.

All you need is a Pc or a Mac with iTunes installed and enough free space on disk to store your backup.
