top load washer wont fill, drains out the pump instead, stops on wash

my 2 year old top load whirlpool high efficiency. when filling the water just drains

out of the drain hose and wont fill the washer. it then stops on wash and wont wash.

performed manual diagnostic test module using the knobs. when performing its test

the light stops on wash. i removed and inspected the washer pump. i found a bobby

pin stuck in between the bottom lever that moves back and forth and plastic

spline inlet to the pump. the bobby pin did not seem to touch the pump impeller.

i made sure the impeller spun by hand, made sure the lever moved back in forth

on the bottom of the washer tub, reinstalled pump and hose. retested. the machine

is still draining by the pump on the fill cycle and a buzz noise is heard at times

before it stops on the wash cycle. the washer will spin and the door will lock

when pressing the spin cycle. thank u.
