Bottom Portion of iPhone 6 is not responsive

Prior to this issue, my Iphone 6's screen was popping outwards because the battery was swelling. I purchased the ifixit kit to replace the battery, and I successful did that. However, I noticed that the bottom portion of my iphone's screen is not responsive. I can click on the apps on the bottom portion, but the very bottom of the screen where the screen ends does not respond. I can't pull up the dock when the phone is vertical. Do I have to purchase a new screen to fix this problem?

The first thing I'd recommend you do is reconnect the digitizer and LCD cables to diagnose the issue. After you've done that, if you're still noticing touch issues the last thing it could be is the screen itself. Touch ic is located on the screen so It may be possible it got damaged in the process. Only other way to diagnose the issue would be to get a new screen and test it.
