My Samsung UE40D5520 TV keeps turning on then off, then on..off again. Been doing this all day and tonight until unplugged it. Can turn on off with remote, however once turn on, the recurring cycle starts again! Red LED is on 100% of time when TVs is off and off when the TVs is on. Help please!

I had a 2008 model Samsung LCD that was repaired under a class action suit for faulty caps on the power supply. Your issue sounds very similar to mine. The TV has been working great ever since.

How did you get them to actually take action. All I get is the run around.
Sorry for the late reply. There was an active class action suit. I dont know what the window for repairs was or if there still is one, but I had a repair guy show up to my house a replace all the caps on the power supply. They were all swollen. Sorry you're getting the run around.

brianabrey could be bad power transdistors, IC's or bad IR board. Of course you ruled out your remote by removing the battery from that. Remove the back take a look at the boards and see if there is any obvious damage. If unsure what you are looking at, take some pictures of the boards and post those with your question. Mike, there are two capacitors that Samsung replaces. They just won't tell me which ones.
