Installing SSD in 20" iMac (mid 2007)

Hello,

I have an iMac (20" inch mid 2007) and I would like to upgrade its HDD to an SSD.

I need a 3.5" drive but the one I found on IFIXIT was a hybrid with 1 TB of storage.

Since I do not need that much storage, where can I find a 500GB SSD compatible with my iMac?

Thanks, Georges

Are you aware of the differences between SSDs and SSHDs?

Hi georgeskazan,

You'll get a lot of results from an online search for a 500GB SSD. Personally, I lean towards larger capacities whenever possible. I hate running out of space.

It looks like you may need an adapter for your SSD depending on the drive you decide on.
