How to repair a MacBook Pro after liquid damage?

I spilled water on my Macbook Pro 15" about a year ago and decided to just let it go and buy a new one. Well, I decided I want to fix the old thing as a project. The things that are not working right now are:

-Battery does charge

-Airport card does receive internet

-Speakers have no sound

-Display works sometimes

I am assuming I must replace all of them, but I want to avoid that. I'm thinking there's one cause for this. Perhaps, something may have shorted out when I spilled water on it. Something that is connected to the speakers, airport card and battery.

Also, I booted up a week ago after keeping it in storage for over a year. It worked completely fine for about 15 minutes. Internet worked. However, battery still didn't work and I don't recall if the speakers were working.

Anyway, if anyone could provide any incite before I start buying parts that would be appreciated.

Before coming to any conclusions, I'd remove the board and examine it for corrosion. Scrub all corroded areas with a soft toothbrush dipped in 90% rubbing alcohol, let it dry, put it back in, and see if that improves the situation. Corrosion can cause any number of various issues, so until you've cleaned the affected areas, you may be chasing your tail. It's like removing debris from the highways after a tornado -- you have to do that first before you have a chance of knowing where you're at, or what the real damage is.

First download and run Coconut battery to find its status.

Next start up from your original system installation disk and run the diagnostics. Hold the "D" key down while booting from the DVD.

I finally found the old installation disc. I ran the hardware test and got the error code 4SNS/1/40000000: TB0T. I can't find anything on the internet that tells me what this code means. Any suggestions that don't involve me going back to Apple?

That code refers to a temp sensor and a fan and possibly the battery. I am including a link to a discussion of the error code. Good luck.
