How do you get the digitizer to stay on the iPad frame when replacing?

How do you get the glass on an iPad 3, or any iPad for that matter, to stay on correctly without having any bumps where it doesn’t fit correctly such as around the camera hook or around the home button or the flex cable for the digitizer? I can never seem to get it quite right, and the adhesive a lot if the time starts coming loose. Any help would be appreciated.

The trick with iPad digitizers is you need to completely clean off the old adhesive from the housing. I use good tweezers to pull off as much as I can and then use acetone and IPA to clean off the residue. You also want to remove any bends along the edge that could cause stress on the digi.

You then need to get a strong adhesive. Tesa Tape 61395 is outstanding and very versatile but I also like to use pre-cut templates from Bowler Tech. They also offer a free sample!

Make sure you test the iPad completely before securing the adhesive.
