How to fix iPhone 6 Plus dark screen afte water damage

Is there any way to fix a screen that's has gotten darker after water damage? My wife dropped only the top part of her iPhone in a cup of coffee. I immediately turned it off and shook it really good since I didn't have rice. I let it sit in rice for 3 days now and the screen has gotten much worse. It's very dark and the distortion in the display has changed its pattern. I'm wondering if the liquid soaked into the logic board somehow in the few hours it wasn't in rice. Is this phone salvageable or is it a very expensive accident?

Do not put the iphone in rice after water damage. The best thing you can do is take it to someone who can repair phone as soon as possible or fix it yourself (And of course drain the liquid out). Rice will only make the problem worse.

This problem is most likely only the screen so just replace the screen and give the motherboard a good bath in 99.9% Isopropyl Alcohol then it should work fine.

If you know what you are doing, you can attempt to fix the screen by removing the backplate and very carefully rubbing it with Isopropyl. This sometimes fixes the screen but you will likely have to replace the screen anyways.

Well the rice seems to either did nothing or made it worse.

The screen has gotten darker and less responsive now. So I'm going to replace the screen. I had to replace the screen on her last iphone 6 a few months ago and she gets this one like two weeks ago and screwed this one up. I'm going to take my time. I'll keep you posted once I get it going
