iFixIt Front Panel Assembly and ear piece speaker not working

I followed all the directions and installed the 3GS front panel assembly, replacing a cracked screen. After carefully removing the 1 and 2 ribbon cables, I unlocked the 3rd and removed it. I then put in the new front panel and reinserted the ribbon cables and put the iPhone back together. Everything works except for the ear piece speaker. Is there something else I should be doing? I did purchase the 3Gs Font panel assembly for an iPhone 3GS

Options

The #3 ribbon needs to be carefully inserted and locked down. If the ribbon is caught on anything and kinks or bends, it could damage it. You can replace it fairly easily though.
