Can I reinstall my original (unerased) 128gb SSD for applecare repair?

I recently installed an OEM 500GB SSD in my Macbook Pro. There seems to be some screen delamination around the camera at the top of the screen. Will my Macbook run the same if I replace the 500GB SSD with the 128GB unerased SSD (didn't reformat). I understand the difference in performance and want to go back to the 128GB just to avoid apple voiding my warranty (under Applecare till '19) and will reinstall the 500GB SSD after they fix my screen. Thanks in a ton in advance guys!!

So it should be plug and play just like installing the larger one with the exception being the smaller, oem one still has os x and all my files on it and should just boot upand run like normal?

I'd do it just to insure no problems with the replacement.
