screen as broken colors running up and down it
no cracks are on screen only broken runs of different size lines and colors
hooked up to tv the piture is fine

Hello david,
It seems likely to me that the display was probably damaged by impact (such as dropping the MacBook or sitting on it). There are ways to damage the screen without cracking it. Unfortunately, the only hope for bad screens is to just replace them. :( Sorry!
