Complete shutdown and possible never work again.

What do you think would cause a phone that is on a charger and has 80 percent battery to shutdown? But is also not powering back up at all; I mean I press the power button and hold it for a second or two, and I get nothing. No light on screen, no vibration to let me know that there is power I mean I get no response from the phone at all. Would like to know what you think is the problem?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

'''By following the steps below, you agree not to hold myself, or the website responsible for any damage to self, device, or surrounding objects, that improperly handling your phone may cause. These steps will also assume you have the required tools to do repairs. Always make sure to consider hiring a professional repair shop to fix your device for you.

1) Hard Reset: Check if it boots to recovery mode by holding Volume +, Home, and Power.

2) Check for a blocked port (Lint build up can keep a cord from fitting in properly. if the frame of the plug is not flush with the device, using small tweezers, and being careful not to damage pins, pry out any dust or lint.

3) Data restore: Plug the device into the computer. (preferrably one it has been plugged into before) make sure the device is recognized by USB. check what the device reads as on samsung smart switch. If it gives you the option to restore the device up front, then do so immediately. should it read fine as a phone, then continue

4) Loose connectors: Disconnect the port, clean the connectors with Isopropyl 99% rubbing alcohal, and a new toothbrush. Then reconnect the flex. Should this fix the issue, great! if not, continue

5) Excite The Battery: Hit the + and - of the device with an external power supply for approximately 30 Seconds to 1 Minute. (This power supply MUST be of the proper voltage and amperage of which the battery will accept, otherwise injury may occur. these Specs can be found written on the battery itself)

The next steps require parts, and will not be free of charge

6) Check the board for physical damage: Scan the board (Preferrably under a 10X+ Microscope) for cracked, chiped, blown, or missing components. replace any problmatic components.

7) Battery: Replace the battery, if this fixes your issue, Great! if not, continue
