replaced battery will not charge

Hi, got a new battery and replaced it per instructions, ran the battery down below 10% as instructed, tried charging it, nothing happened, used 3 different cord on wall charger, also tried my car charger and nothing, connected to laptop to see if the computer saw the device, still nothing, any ideas? removed battery a few times to make sure the plug was right. any other way to charge the battery besides using the 30 pin connector?

Thanks Greg

Chosen Solution

This can be three different things. Two easy, one bad news.

First this is faulty charging port. If the device is on but no charging connection, this charging port component will need to be replaced.

iPhone 4 Dock Connector Replacement

There is a difference in charging port between CDMA and GSM models. Make sure you get the right one.

Second thing could be a faulty battery. Although this is more unlikely aince the battery does seems to operate.

Third, if all else fails is motherboards issue, which you will need to contact a professional for advise on how to repair the device.

Happy repairing!
