Mower goes faster in reverse than forward

Craftsman YV4000 Riding Mower - This is a mower used for mowing a cemetery. During use a problem occurred. The bolts on the transmission came loose. After service it was found that the mower went slower in Forward than reverse. Shortly after service the shop closed. I checked for some kind of adjustment on the rod which goes to the transmission but found nothing. Has anyone any idea what could cause this?

See if the pulley is upside down, which will prevent the control actuator from being installed in the topmost bearing hole. Next, re-do the neutral adjustment AFTER the forward/reverse/neutral notch plate is installed - this ensures that adjusting the rod actually moves the control arm on the tranny and not just move the control lever.

Can the person who answered this question elaborate as to which pulley might be upside down? I’m having this same issue but can’t determine what exactly to check based on the response.
