Changed apple watch screen. Stuck on apple screen when powered on.

As the title states, I replaced my apple watch screen and upon turning it back on, it just stays on the Apple logo. Any idea what might be wrong? Did I break it?

Apple Watch screen replacements are notoriously difficult even for a professional. You can try to narrow down the issue to see if it is the screen used or if the device itself got damaged. I would try to install the old screen and see if you can get it back up and running. If that doesn't work, there may be additional issues going on with the device. Look over the device carefully to see if anything may have gotten nicked or damaged upon removal.

Replaced the old severely damaged screen and the device works perfect. Put the new one on and the watch takes 10 minutes to get past the Apple logo, and when it manages to do so, the language screen is non responsive and the screen does not respond to touch. Additionally, the wheel doesn't scroll the view on the screen. When the screen goes to sleep, it will not power on.

With the old screen, all functionality is restored, and I'm able to wake the watch up, move menus and the scroll dial works too.

So I think that's enough to rule out the watch breaking?

If so, yay!

Sounds like there is something going on with that screen. That's awesome to hear. Now, do you know if the screen replacement you got was original or aftermarket?

The ad said it was oem but refurbished in fine print.. I got the screen and it had some noticeable scratches. They haven't contacted me back yet

OEM doesn't always mean original in this industry unfortunately. This is key when looking for parts, original is a key word. Most online sites like eBay and amazon rarely have true original screens, if at all. That's the problem.

I see. Well, I won an auction for another locked apple watch series 1 42mm. The screen apparently only has light scratches, which is fine if I can just get it working. It's a good buy too because I got it for 50. So if I ever need a new battery or something, there's another one I can use. The place I bought the screen from told me they were out of stock until I called them and then miraculously they had one. So if the screen doesn't work this time I'll just get a refund
