Why wont my iPhone turn on

a couple of days ago my phone dropped and cracked slightly right above the camera this morning I was using it and it just turned black and wont turn on. one of my friends told me the LCD could be broken is this true?

It could, plug it into a computer. Does it make the "connected" noise on the computer?
