Stay on iOS 8 or upgrade to 10?

So i got this phone that i will use as my main one for a while. It still has ios 8.1.1, which i think is jailbreakable, but i haven't checked yet. I'm not sure if i want to update to ios 10 or not. I HATE the press home to unlock on devices with no touch id, and there is no option to change it back to slide to unlock. But, ios 8 is getting kind of old, and some of the features i dont know how to use. What should i do? stay with 8 or go to 10?

I just decided to update to 10 as it is the newest and supported.

I updated mine via iTunes on my MacPro without issues and am happy with it.

Right now I have the IPSW downloading, I will restore it as soon as I finishes but iOS 8 had an amazing background I loved and I don't know if it will be on iOS 10. It was northern lights with snow and other things, I will have to find it online somewhere.

The biggest issue with iOS 10 vs 8 is performance. I upgraded a 4S and an iPad mini and really regretted it. The 5c might be okay (I haven't tried) but you are getting to the point where it will not make sense to upgrade unless security is an issue. Most of the "new" features only work on the newer phones anyway.
