What can be done to an LCD monitor that suddenly doesn't work?

My Samsung LCD monitor suddenly went out of order. It is only 3 years old. Not frequently used. Fuse checked and relevant power supply source checked. No sound, no light, nothing. What can I do next? Thank you!

Sounds like the power supply's gone south. Usual suspects are bad capacitors, which may be bloated or still be perfectly normal looking. Another suspect might be the backlight or its associated inverter circuitry. Unless you have some experience in electronics repair and troubleshooting, it's hard to fix.

Bad capacitors are common across the Samsung range and are very easy to spot. Just take the monitor apart and look at all the capacitors. Even a slight deviation from flatness on the top may cause problems, or it sounds like you've lost circuit completely so one might have popped.

Either remove them and solder in new ones (ebay is your friend), or find someone to do it for you.
