LED Backlight not working after liquid spill?

Hi Everyone!

I'm new here and would appreciate some further guidance. I've read everything I can find on the forum relating to this problem.

Question:

Can anyone confirm that there is a microfuse in the power supply to the screen backlight L.E.D's on the A1278 logic board? It's value and location on the board would also be a help!

Thanks!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

There is a microfuse near the battery-connector. It has a value of 6A. It comes in a very small SMD-format. On it you find the designation: "F09 - 6A".

But it is the main-fuse of the book, not only for the LED-backlight!

I have the same problem like you: After a liquid spill I have repaired some components (also the microfuse). The main problem was the battery-load-indicator near the battery: The water did a very effective job there: The tiny board with the little battery-test-switch and the load-indicator-LEDs was completely destroyed and caused a short circuit on the motherboard, making the main microfuse blew...

Now I'm looking –like you– for more information about the LED-backlight:

- Where is the power supply for LED backlight?

- Which connector (or connection-pin of the disply-data-cable), is powereing the backlight?

I hope someone can help us???

Best Regards

Georg
