My phone is paired but won't connect phone or media only contact

I've tried resetting it charging it all the instructions that have been given to me and yet for some reason my phone will connect to it but it would only allow contacts to be discovered and not phone or media I'm using the Alcatel Fierce 4 to connect to my JBL Charge 2
