Have you tried a different sim card in your phone? If so and the problem still occurs, u might need to get a new antenna flex cable for your phone. If they do not sell on ifixit.com, try ebay.

I have the same issue on the same iPhone.

Discovering on all around forums and internet that may be the baseband has been broken.

I have replaced the antenna assembly two times and I'm still getting the NO SERVICE msg.

So the issue is not linked on the antenna flex cable or antenna assembly.

Now I'm trying to get a new phone logic board that I hope to find.

I advice you to try this.

Step 1: Try to downgrade your FW to the 2.x version

Step 2: Modify your fw in order to install cydia

Step 3: Download FuzzyBaseband from cydia

Step 4: Try to downgrade your baseband

I hope you will get more luky then me.

Is your phone jailbroken?? i had this problem... it can simply be that too much stuff is being used, i dont know how it works but i just reset everything to look factory and my signal come back-

for a temporary fix, switch 3g off and then turn aeroplane mode on then off, will force the phone to search for signal.

He probably has to ensure that no5 is plugged-in correctly, but in my issue I have re-plugged that cable so many times and each time the phone gave me the NOService msg.
