My chromebook is crashing with blue static bars on the screen

I have a ASUS C202SA YS02 11.6″ Chromebook. Earlier today I tried to clean it as it was gross, but after that when I turned it on, while using it it would crash with these blue static bars on the screen. I tried formatting it, and in the format screen and safe mode it wasn't crashing. Is it water damage or is there something else here. Please answer, I need this chromebook for school!
