bluetooth improvement or upgrade?

hello I have a MBP mid 2010 and ive tried all types of solutions to fix my Bluetooth problems ex. iphone , speakers, etc.Well my question is that if it is possible to change the BT card or any improvement so I can be able to connect my iphone and such devices also it is an LMP: 2.1 (0x4) and is not handoff supported. I recently upgraded my mac, I bought a 16 GB (8GB + 8GB) ram memory, a 480 SSD, and a new battery. my mac is a potencial beast I use it for university works such as autocad civilcad wich are heavy programs and now everything works fast with no lags. I would really like to have a solution to upgrade my bBluetoothproblems. please help. greeting from PERU

Sadly this series can't be updated ;-{

Unlike the newer models which use a mini PCIe interface in the main case. This model uses a BT/WiFi combo board held within the clutch cover which you can see here:

Even the next gens of the 13" & 15" can't support BT 4.0 internally, you would need to jump to a 13" Retina Late 2012 model or use an external dongle with the newer 2011 & 2012 models.

Hello @danj is there any way that I can use an external dongle with my mac? I have read that it is possible but with some special hack patch/program. using an IOGEAR Bluetooth 4.0 USB Micro Adapter. thanks a lot for the hardware help it really helped me. ohh and Are there any disadvantages if I buy the screen of the 13" Retina Late 2012 or wont be compatible?

You can't switch the screens between a non-retina to a retina if that is what you are thinking. The newer Retina systems use a very different design for both the display and how the AirPort is connected. Here's an image of the Retina models AirPort card: Retina AirPort. Note its in the main case mounted to the I/O board and the coax cables to the antenna's are fed into the lid though the hollow hinge.
