replaced the screen , when I turn on it shows a white and black screen

Hello

the phone was dropped hard , and the screen was damaged

i replaced the screen , when i turned on the phone it shows a white and black screen just like the tv when you don't connect anything with it

Block Image

i thought the damage was in the screen itself , but when i tried to get it in the downloading mode ( by pressing power + volume down and home ) , the screen worked fine it shows the mode without any error in colors or characters or anything

Block Image

i tried to restart it when it shows the downloading mode , but when i press volume down it won't restart , and stay the same screen

what could be the problem ? is it software? should i try to install Rom ? or hardware from the screen ?

thank you

If you are lucky it's just the firmware (specifically in the bootloader area) is corrupt in this case you will need to reflash the firmware via ODIN (You may need to factory reset in the recovery menu too if it still does not boot).

Sometimes the flash will fail via ODIN meaning that the memory chip on the board may have been physically damaged (cracked / solder balls under the chip losing connection).

thanks ben

when i get it to download mode and i connect it with my computer , the computer doesn't t recognize it , also odin too doesn't

You did install the Samsung USB Drivers right?

Might be the phone being no good after drop. You might have to give up on this one.

Try booting recovery mode and see if you can get anything via Power + Volume Up + Home, make sure to take out battery to switch off the phone if it's still on.

Use Odin 3.07 for this device, it's the best version for it.

the System Version that i wanted to flash was : Jelly Bean 4.3

should i try older system versions ?

Don't try older ones (A factory reset is required if it manages to flash), it should work on newer ones no problem if hardware isn't at fault.

Try another cable and see if it works.

The connection on the phone for the plug isn't loose right? Shouldn't lose connection when touching the cable (Odin removed / added message when doing it).

But yeah seems to look like the phone being no good.
