Hi I see the info over to set jumper on sata II disk to be compatible as SATA I. But is it your recommendation that is also ok to use a new ssd disk like IF107-122-2 1 TB SSD Hybrid 2.5" Hard Drive and would work fine ? Or is it impossible to use this disk inside and are forced to use older technological as a compatible SATA disk I (SATA II if the jumpers are set ok). Which one hard disk to make a choice, is for sure working fine with my early model MA092LL/A MacBook Pro "Core Duo" 2.16 17" family A1151. My internal HD 120 GB is broken and I must change it out. I thought a SSD disk could also have a positiv effect of the speed with better respons to run programs. The snow leopard ver. 10.6.4 is the last one and impossible to upgrade to next generation. It is then not possible to use ms office 2016 which require at least a lion ver. of OS, pretty %#*@. But I have MS office 2013 working fine. Okey give me a hint to choose a good working internal HD little bigger than the orginal broken internal 120 GB.
