What is wrong with my front facing camera?

I turned it to the front facing camera to selfie of course and have never had a problem with it but all the sudden it has started to flash different colors and lines across the screen. What is it doing and how can I fix it? I tried turning it on and off and that didn't help and I have no cracks or problems I can see on it. It just does that when I turn the front camera on.

take out your battery and let it cooldown over night it work with me as I had the same problem

if that does not work check you warranty
