Why does display settings stop responding?

In Settings every time I tap display settings the settings app stops responding and closes. I've tried rebooting, obviously no joy. It's a brand new phone, so it may just be something simple I've missed. Don't have an sd card or sim card yet (due for delivery any day) though I can't see how that would affect the core phone display functionality.

Went and double checked, fully updated, problem persists.
