iPad turns flat @ 10%, shows iTunes/ USB symbol, after digitizer replacement

I recently replaced my digitizer and have noticed that at around 10% battery left, the iPad will completely switch off and blinks the empty red battery when trying to power on.. When plugged into a power socket, it shows the iTunes/ USB Cable symbol saying to restore via iTunes. This is the second time this has happened since after the digitizer replacement. What could be the problem for the battery shutting off early and the reoccuring iTunes/USB Cable symbol? Thanks

As a first step, I would verify the condition of the battery. A battery in poor condition can cause this type of problem.

Download coconutBattery (Mac) or 3uTools (Windows) to test the battery. It will tell you how many charge cycles and the actual battery capacity is. Get back to us with the results and we can give you more guidance.

A battery starts to behave erratically when it gets below 80% of its design capacity; shorter life, shutting down even though there is still a charge etc. Your battery behaviour is normal as it's at the end of life. You will need to replace your battery.

What's unfortunate is that you just recently replaced the digitizer, giving you easy access to the battery. You can buy a battery here.

Thankyou very much for your help Minho :) I was struggling to identify whether it was this or that that was causing the iPad some trouble. Thanks !!! :)
