MacBook Pro won't turn on/turns off when moved

Hello, I just bought one of these off of eBay with the description saying that it got the flashing folder. I open it up, and I couldn't get it to turn on! I've tried removing the drive, ram, and battery. I was able to get it to turn on after a couple smc resets, and even boot it to a USB, but it shuts off if I move it the slightest, and is difficult to get back on again. I will occasionally get a brief spin from the fan and a faint flash in the display as well. An interesting observation: when the charger is plugged in and the light is orange, the light turns green when I push the power button and goes back to orange when I release it, this is when it doesn't turn on. I'm trying to save it before I attenpt a return, as I got a pretty good deal on it. Edit: is this possible corrosion that could be causing it?

I was able to run apple hardware test, and it found nothing wrong. So I moved the computer and it shut off. It will run on battery power, so I know it's not the MagSafe port probably

Pop the bottom cover off and disconnect the battery. Follow this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 Battery Replacement just do the first four steps.

Now review this Apple T/N to make sure the MagSafe charger & its connection is good: Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters.

Once you know the MagSafe charger is good and the connection is likewise good plug in the charger and see if the system is stable without the battery plugged in. The system should start up on its own when you've connected the charger.

Is it better?

Thanks for the advice, but I've tried it with multiple chargers and multiple batteries, as well as without the battery, so I know that's not the case.

Then you have a deeper problem. Best to return it.
