Removing completely stripped screw on vintage 1996 Tamagotchi toy

Does anyone know how to remove a completely stripped screw on the back of a 1996 Tamagotchi? As this is quite an old item that is in perfect condition otherwise I want to avoid damaging it.

The screw is inside a small hole on the back and anyone familiar with the device will know how tiny the screw is as well, so a lot of the standard options for removing a stripped screw won't work.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I had the same problem before. At the time I was young and did not search online for solutions. So, I ended up taking a good flat head screw driver and pried the back of the toy until the back came off, leaving the screw and a small part of the back on the toy. With the back removed and my goal accomplished, I replaced the battery and took some scotch tape and taped the back back in place. Mission accomplished.

Use mechanical oil!!! (Only a tine bit). Let it soak. Carefully heat the screws, then cool them, then heat them, then cool them. Let the oil sit. Then wipe all the oil of your hands and the screwdriver, cool the screws very well for one last time, calm your hands down and try slowly but with good pressure to turn the screw. It has to be the exact suitable screwdriver for the screw, since its Tamagotchi, it will be JIS screws, so you need a vessel screwdriver. This is not the same as Phillips screwdrivers. Watch carefully if the screw slowly moves or if you only move the screwdriver and strip the screw furthermore. If you don’t get it with the first to second trial, better take it to the jewelerer. But be careful, many don’t know the value of a vintage Tamagotchi (like Devilgotchi für Example) and mindlessly may scratch the plastic. If is should stay in mint condition, wrap it, so only the screw holes are exposed.
