Display doesn't work after LCD replacement

The LCD of my phone was damaged because of water. Everything else was working fine because I can slide my figure on the screen and can see effect(very little because of damaged LCD). I opened the iphone (front panel) and now i have 3 piece (front glass, LCD and back panel). Then I connected the #3 cable to make sure that LCD is bad and I can see that LCD was not working. So I ordered the lcd. And I kept the phone in the ziplock to make sure that I don't loose anything. I got the LCD in a week and before I put everything back again, I wanted to make sure that the lcd is good so I did the same thing. Put the #3 cable of new lcd but iphone didn't display anything so I placed #3 of my old LCD it still didn't display anything.

hmm then I place 1,2,3 all the cables back (old lcd) , phone still didn't display anything.

But itune is picking up phone, alarm is working (it started beeping 6am so i know), as soon as I charge i hear the noise u get when u plug charging cable..

Anything idea what could be wrong, how to fix it????

You only damaged the LCD with water? No other damage? Could it be that you had more damage to the phone and while you were waiting on your new LCD you ended up with corrosion? Did you make sure that all contacts are clean and free of corrosion.

Yes only LCD was damaged. I cannot see any other damage. The phone was damaged almost 2 months back and I ordered the new LCD only a week back so whatever damage would have happened , would have happened long back.

If you didn't clean the phone and only allowed to dry the residue will keep on corroding....

Can you see a faint image on LCD? if so then it sounds more like a backlight coil/damage to connector 1. search those answers on ifixit there are lots of good links to help you.

I cannot see anything on LCD. Do you think its because the phone was not shutdown (still charged and turned on) before opening the phone. And i need to let the battery die and connect all 3 connector and restart the phone?

in your original question you say you can see effect when you slide your finger. what do you see?

I'd clean this phone thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and soft brush. pay a lot of attention to the connections you are having problems with. You may have been unlucky and blown 2 LCD's. never change parts with the phone on.....

Press and hold power for about 10 sec then slide finger across top 1/3 of screen to power off. you can do this even if you can't see the display.

cheapest solution? new lcd

next? connector 1 repair

last? most fiddly etc/ backlight coil.

Try disconnecting the battery first, connect the ribbon cables then the battery last. Then the LCD should work when you power on the phone. Had the same problem and it worked for me and you shouldn't lose any information save on your iphone
