It will not turn on or charge.

Hi,

My Ipod wont turn on when i charge it nothing appears on the screen and when i try to power on nothing happens I have tried holding the power button and home button down for 20 seconds and still nothing happens

Please can somebody help me as I would not like a dead Ipod.

Did this happen suddenly or has the iPod been in a drawer for several weeks/months?

A sudden and unexpected failure might point to a logic board issue. If the device hasn't been used in a long time, you may just have a dead battery. Either way, replacing the battery would be the first step in troubleshooting this problem.

How long have you tried charging the phone. It could take around 30 minutes before the device has enough juice to even tell you the battery is dead. If you have tried charging it overnight and still no luck, then replace the battery.

(also insure that you have a known-good charge cable)

We have been charging it for 4 hours and nothing has came on the screen.
